Hollywood' is expecting a baby – and the message we find in most
news releases is that she is having too many children. Headlines
claim this is her fourth baby – others mention a third baby. It
turns out this is Tori's third baby and Dean already had a child from
a previous marriage. Different articles mention Tori's busy life and
the fact that she is pregnant again after giving birth five months
ago. As far as I am concerned, Tori and Dean can do what they want
and have all the children they want. But perhaps it would be better
not to make public announcements judging by the media's reaction.
A
few things irritate me: the confusion between Tori having three or
four children is a device aimed at making her not fit the norm. Cheap
shots are taken about her busy life: apparently having a career and
raising children is not compatible. Most doctors recommend to wait at
least eighteen months between pregnancies to decrease the risks of
complications, but studies have shown that a short interval during
pregnancy does not necessarily lead to complications. If Tori eats
properly and takes good care of herself, her new baby should be
perfectly healthy. And above all, nothing is said about her husband.
Tori seems to be the only one responsible for getting pregnant and
she is the one making the bad decisions because she cannot manage her
family and her career.
This
is why the couple should have kept the pregnancy a private thing and
not make a public announcement.
